Our Roots

Spiga Italian Delicatessen was first established in Italy by the Serra family in the 1950s nearby Caserta Royal Palace, 40 Km north of Naples between mountains and the Mediterranean Sea.

If you visit there, don't miss the famous Sagra delle Pallottole (folkloristic food festival) in San Leucio each year in January!

Our Cuisine

The cuisine of Caserta consists of simple recipes using fresh and seasonal local produce. That has inspired the Serra family to reflect this authenticity. From fresh products and simply delicious mouth-watering recipes, their delicacies come alive which are perfect as an appetiser, side dish, or main meal!

Family, traditions, and values

Inheriting sturdy family and cultural traditions, brothers Gianpietro and Alfredo grew up sharing their beloved grandparent's authentic Italian meals around the dinner table, prepared using the finest locally sourced products. Their home was close enough to the sea to enjoy daily fresh fish, with other ingredients mostly from nearby fields.

The Serra brothers

As an experienced chef, Alfredo carries forward the Serra family's tradition and his grandmother's authentic recipes, selecting ingredients from trusted Italian suppliers. Gianpietro is the perfect host, confident, efficient and his aim is to ensure you feel right at home, welcoming you into their space with the sounds of coffee brewing, friendly chatter, and delicious aromas of hot dishes being prepared as soon as you walk through the door. How can you not love Italian food!
